I didn't waste another breath. I immediately hauled off and struck him right on the cheek. The strike made him stumble backwards, his scale armor jingling with the reverb.
[LUDWYHN] "GOUHR!"
He grasped his cheek, and looked at me over his gauntlet.
[LUDWYHN] "...Heh. Hehehee! Now thas' whatime talkin' about there lass! We continuah! HAHA!"
Back and forth, back and forth.
We traded blow after blow to each other, as unpleasant as it was. Every time he slapped me with all he had and made me stumble, I returned one that made him sling spittle. It got to the point where his slaps couldn't even move my neck at full strength, but I'd returned him one that sent him off his feet, yet he didn't give up.
It got the point where his face was covered in bruises and nose bleeding before he gave up.
[LUDWYHN] "Aaaahhh-ohhh! Aaaright, we'll cor' it a drawr? Y-Yeah?"
'Ngh...!' I winced, rubbing my tingling cheek that stung.
'Why are you like this?'
[LUDWYHN] "Eh-huheh... It's what I think's foon. And I gotta say... I loik' a woman that can hit hard. Harder, even more so. It's loik' we say in the mead halls, she can't take a hit, she ain't worth the shag. And I'm speakin' out loud when I say, if I ever have little godlings, then by Wargod, I WAN' EM' TOUGH EN STRONG, JUST LIKE ME! And just like whoever that lady'll be the one that I'm lucky enough to find is tuh'."
He knelt over and spat out a tooth.
[LUDWYHN] "Deh, it'll come back."
I sighed. It couldn't be helped. He's still an energetic young Demigod, and still thick as a brick too. Goodness, it'd take a lot to wear him down into the state his father's in now. Huh, but even Eikn said Woldor was like him once, and she's the reason they're like they are now. I guess Ludwyhn's just hoping he can find the same thing himself. Maybe it's not envy of his parents and their storied lives, but admiration. Still, he's a loggerhead if I've ever seen one!
But, he's not bad. Not truly.
[LUDWYHN] "Ough! So... entertaining enuff for ya'?"
'...Haaah, I suppose I'll least now be able to say I've done it.'
[LUDWYHN] "Thas' the spirit! Hahaha! N-Now, if you'll excoose me. I'm gon' fall unconshish now."
And with that, he plummeted forward into the dirt. I glanced over, at a pair of Knights shaking in their armor, who'd been staring at the whole ordeal from a distance, too frightened to step closer to the sight of a contest of endurance between their cherished commander and me, I myself for all intents and purposes still remaining a mysterious and unknown goddess to mortals as of yet. And I'd just beat him. Literally even.
'Take care of him, won't you?'
The Knights jumped when I addressed them, but then looked at each other briefly before they'd turn back to me and nod wordlessly. With that, I took my leave and teleported out of sight.
