>>6044419He blinks. “…You’re actually serious.”
“I am, because where I come from, beings of all kinds have been able to work together against threats to the universe. Gods, Kais, Demons, Majins, and of course, Mortals of all stripes. Such a thing is possible because there’s no systemic, forced progress for the sake of ‘Mortal Development’ or the like in place. You can be part of the change to this universe to let that happen, but you need to live long enough to actually get that idea off the ground.” You stand firm, telling him, “One place to start is helping with the battle he’s currently engaged in.”
Zelos has a stern look on his face. “You realize there’s still one more of us out there. Strongest, most cunning, and most determined of all of us. And he will not take well to what you are proposing.”
You give a nod. “I do. All the more reason to go along with this though.”
“Wait… were you already aware of the other battle?” Chiaotzu asks.
“Of course I am. Yao does not want my aid.” he answers plainly. Zelos then looks at you directly. “…Say I do offer some aid. How exactly do you expect this to go? Just appear there, charge in, hope for the best?”
Grinning, you respond with a shake of your head. “I’ve got a better idea. But…” Your eyes turn to the whip sword, and you gesture towards it. “You’re gonna need that for it.”
Sala kinda pouts at you. “Oi…”
“We’ll need your help too, Sala.” you tell her, getting your Hakkero out. “Zelos, there’s still a lot of energy flowing through the Consciousness Grid, right? How about we make use of it, and send it to one of our allies still fighting Yao?”
He’s actually surprised by the idea. “I… that… that might actually be possible…”
Sala grins. “Ah! So we give it one last hurrah as it smashes apart, and help stop the Dragon lady at the same time! Two birds, one stone!” Zelos looks at her with narrowed eyes.
“Pretty much. So come on, let’s do this!”
