>>5294622>Oxygen depletionOkay, so I kept this concealed, but: it sounds like another minecraft-hunger mechanic, where it starts being an annoying checkbox and ends with you having to circumvent it to smoothly play the game. The way to do these is not to punish NOT having the resource, but reward utilizing the resource - for example, if fuel offers very good gameplay boons (maybe extra mechanic?), it will be engaging and make players seek it themselves. Additionally, if you have a good shop system in place and then make this fuel rare and expensive (maybe scavengable in tiny amounts), you might see players consider collecting and selling it to grab other things from shop, instead.
>dont see how that would really make it more engaging. you would just figure out the optimal shape and always use itYeah I guess. I was thinking that having bore-torpedo (leaves long, very thin tunnel) would be nice, but since regular ones have no other use, it's not gonna work as you said.

>i think i agree with youumm, based?
>the upgrade that removed error just made for meKinda figured, some of changes you made seemed convenient and showed that you weren't happy with how things worked on your end. Which is fine, you just need to tweak stuff until it works. Based on this and
>>5294553, I'd suggest making sure the processing is not a chore for you before you start, and that the game offers you some interactive elements that respond to what the players are doing. However, I can't think of anything rn.
Also, um, please don't make distance error a thing. That was the worst shit ever.>indestructible terrainActually, maybe make it so that certain terrain makes torpedo explosions % smaller or is covered in junk that needs to be removed by hitting it point blank x times? It would make things feel more natural, basically making breaking some places impractical to break through instead of setting gamey boundaries.
>cipher without learning how one is madepicrel, kek
>the function of mechanics is probably the most difficult bitI was straight up anxious of even looking here because it seemed so complex and the grid of radar was unfamiliar as fuck.
>sometimes you just pull shit off by accident and if you try to improve it simply gets worseYeah, exactly. Granted, it was never truly horrible (except for spray/noise everywhere, ew), but it's just much more work for you and seems unnecessary.
