TalOS allowed himself a moment of respite as he thought to himself. He weighed the next action with as much leverage as one could within the coming moments. Ideas began to fill within his head as he raised a hand forward, “Barbarians would simply kill all of your people and be done with them. They would run over your lands and kill each and every one of you for the person glory of the warlord who stands above them. After all, that is how Orks act.”
The creature seemed to focus its senses towards TalOS upon hearing those words. A moment’s wonder as the slug began to move back, “You answer to a higher being?”
“To those words of yours, we do. The Machine God is the highest and as his priests we carry a vestige of him.” TalOS declared as he waved a hand, “Your fate, and that of your entire collective once the war is over, shall be determined by the greatest of our kind. You shall be the representative of your people and answer for all the crimes they have committed.”
TalOS leaned back in the Command Throne as he turned towards the Skitarii Marshall who was leading the detainment team, “Place him on the next ship towards Lucius and have him stand before the High Court. I shall prepare and send a request for the trial to be held with expediency so that we do not keep the esteemed Governor waiting.”
The Skitarii gave a salute to that order before giving a wordless order through the Noosphere to those around him. They lifted the stunned Sloog and carried him from the chassis of the Titan. TalOS felt a smile crawling upon his face as he allowed himself a moment’s enjoyment.
The trial would have an obvious conclusion. The Xenos that TalOS had just shepard off was clearly more of a war hero than an actual orator. And even if he was the evidence continued to pile up so fast that most of the trial would be the Fabricator General listing the series of crimes against the Mitu Collective.
From the smallest theft to planetary eradication, the Mechanicum will learn of it and remember it. No crime will be left unpunished.
As for the fate of the Sloog Governor, the Mechanicum has a series of weapons at its disposal. TalOS, in his message to the Fabricator General, would contain one that TalOS would enjoy.
The Sloog shall become a display within an extravagant hall where the victories of Lucius shall forever be displayed. For both normal humans and Tech Priests alike to remember the victory that happened upon this day.
