The Guild's news gave a small opinion piece in reply; claiming this would've been preventable if not for the bureaucratic paperwork, corporate meddling, and constant changes in schedule by some important figures that wanted to turn the execution into a spectacle.
It also accused the Centrian Academy of Science and Magic of lobbying for a lessening of the Bandit Kings charges. Through it all you could tell that careful wording was made so that it wouldn't be considered a direct insult to either Eastia or Westphalia.
There was an small reminder near the bottom of the article that said that 'While acts of heroism are encouraged, taking the law upon one's own hands is considered a crime' and 'If one wanted to fight for justice, there were countless quests relating to cleaning up crimes that any aspiring adventurer could accept. The job board or the front desks are always there to guide any adventurer'.
Honestly you felt conflicted about this news. On one hand it was good to know that the Bandit King was dead, on the other this gave you a bad feeling. It was the sort of 'bad feeling' that made you think this was the start of some arc.
You mulled over what to do, or if you should even do anything to begin with. You could always write a letter to Todred to ask about what the hell the Academy was doing, or better yet write to your fox dad and see what he has to say about things since he knew the pulse on the economic state of Centria.
>You'll write a few letters to some influential people you know, out of curiosity if nothing else.
>No need to bother with something that sounded like it was gonna pull you in a side quest.

Alternatively, though not exclusively, you could always go to Centria itself to see what was going on. Besides, an Academy lecture that you were interested in was being held this week; "Mana And The Luminiferous Aether, From Theory To Law Of Physics". That wasn't even mentioning getting the opportunity to visit your cute elf wife, though you hadn't even mailed that letter to her dad yet.
But did these things really warrant going to the City of Merchants this time?
>Yes and you'd stay there a while. Not only to see what was going on, but to see to your business too. (Will interrupt everyone's weekly actions)
>You'd go there for a day, maybe less. Enough time to meet with Aila again and listen to the guest speakers in the Academy.
>No. You've had enough of Centria for the time being. So long as both your family and your property were respected you'd let Centria sort out its own problems.

But these problems weren't as pressing as your immediate calamari concerns. Today you needed to ready yourself and focus on the task at hand.
Later in the afternoon you were at the dockyard, ready to make the BoatMech dive into the deep of the ocean waters.
While the sky was grey with a threat of rain, the ocean itself was calm. Too calm. Calm enough to warrant some investigation.
