"Showing any sort of goodwill to Forthwythe sounds like a recipe for disaster." You knew enough about the fat old bastard to come to that conclusion, much to Gerty's relief.
"Indeed." Ruby said, as if she didn't just make the suggestion. "That is why we shall arm this captive bandit with bombs and the like. Does he not want to die gloriously? Well, here's his chance to kill the old tyrant of Riverdale that sent his 'bandit soldiers' to the slaughter. All while the 'Bandit King' becomes part of Riverdale's history books."
There were many holes in Ruby's plans, which was normal, but this one you didn't like for multiple reasons.
On a similar note, hearing Cattleya's and Gerty's plans, and the reasons behind them, concerned you. It didn't take a genius to know they still had lingering issues and worries.
"Wouldn't that just make Westphalia angry at us?" Herta said something reasonable while being your footstool. "And wouldn't giving the Bandit King to Eastia or Westphalia also make the other side hate us? Or endanger your loved ones in Eastia and Westphalia?"
"I can't really argue with that, mate." Meowed your Cat.
"It's true." Sighed your Holy Knight.
"While fortune favors the bold, I will be the first to admit that standing back and weaving plans in the shadows is the way to go." Rose conceded without really conceding anything.
"For a useless pain addict, you can be pleasing to me." You 'complimented' your pet goddess. Every once in a while she said some (at least somewhat) smart things. Herta smiled.
Ruby, on the other hand, seemed worried about having just clashed with your 'elaborate master schemes again'.
"That is why Centria is my preferred choice, Master." Ayane said to you. "By bringing the Bandit King there we could both gain relations and influence in Eastia, Westphalia, and Centria proper, without making an enemy out of anyone. Not to mention the reward will be larger if we send him to Centrian authorities. And there is the fact that my father would work to make sure he's quickly executed." That last part was to be expected. The Bandit King was pretty much the main reason Aneko was dead, since without him she and Ryko would've never ended up in the that goblin cave.
"Master is really smart for thinking about all this." Bertha said.
"Um, I don't mean to go against you, Master," Mel said. "But, uh, I would've like it more if he was dead. Or at least gone."
"Don't worry, I have this all under control." You assured her. And you did, considering how many traps and precautions you've taken to make sure things will go your way.
"We cornered him and Bertha pretty much broke his legs." Herta said. "It was a little underwhelming how easy it was to get rid of the bandits. I thought it was going to be a big deal."
"Never underestimate an enemy, Herta." You chided her while applying pressure onto her back. "Especially one that wants to die fighting. And always be happy when things are good for me." You playfully order.
