“Then Ultramar will require constant maintenance.” Was what Guilliman got from the words they were all sharing, “The question becomes how would I be able to extract resources from it. You get most of your resources from your vassals with trade deals, correct?”
“Yes. While I have imposed taxes upon the non-military worlds of the Federation most of our benefits come from giving their Nobles resources they cannot find on their worlds. For every year we add to their lives, it is worth one thousand years worth of manpower given upon it.” TalOS explained for a sense of understanding, “You will have a lot to think about.”
“I like both of your options.” Roboute told TalOS as he glanced towards Rogal, “Neither will be perfect for me though. It does give me a good baseline in order to develop from. A series of theories to test out.”
“Have you looked at the methods of our brothers?” Rogal asked as he seemed curious about the fact. It had become obvious that Guilliman enjoyed a book and studying reports, and Dorn was someone who wished to get as many facts as he could about a topic.
It was a hard question to answer for Guilliman for the man took ten seconds of thought to answer his brother. TalOS could feel the irritation from his brother as he likely realized how long he took to answer that question.
“They do not do what the two of you do.” Was the answer Guilliman gave them, “From what I read all of our other brothers are complacent with simply using iterators to expand their reach. For what I am to build I cannot rely upon the workings of the Imperium. I need something I can bring to these worlds.”
