“Warrior,” The Elder spoke firmly as he rubbed his hand through his grey and red hair, “I want to thank you for saving those children. The Jabbersythe would have had their lives if it was not for your strike against it.”
“You’re welcome.” The nobleman decided to answer back as he placed a hand on his chest, “I am Lucian… a Knight from Bretonnia. You are the village Elder I guess?”
The man gave a subtle nod to Lucian, “I am the Elder of Josskar, the village whose people you have saved.” He thought to himself deeply for a moment as the words Lucian spoke resonated with him, “You… are a Mainlander.”
“Yes.” Lucian smiled as his job become slightly easier, “I am here on a Quest for my lands. To find the fathomed temples of the Lizardmen and learn from there what Chaos has in stored for the lands of my people.”
The old man’s eyes went slightly wide at the proclamation, “A noble goal if I have heard one. Though… are you not speaking of Beastmen?”
“It is… a complex matter from what I understand.” Lucian admitted as he shook his head, “Have you met anyone from a shipwreck? A monster of Manann destroyed our vessel and threw us into his seas only to end up here.”
“None that I know of, Bretonni.” The Elder shook his head solemnly as if mourning the lives lost, “Such wrecks are common by the monster, Lessisker. Your story is not an uncommon one, for she is the curse the Lord of the Seas have placed upon our lands.”
“A curse? What would bring that upon you?” Lucian asked as he raised a brow to it.
“Our King prayed to Manann that no more Men of Chaos should raid our shores.” The elder said with solemnness in his voice, “He forget that Manann is the Lord of the Sea, who does not truly care for what is above his waters. When he heard that no Man of Chaos should cross into our shores, he simply chose to enact that will by making all unable to cross onto our shores.”
“Sir Bretonni.” The Elder caught himself as he spoke, “For what you have done for us I wish to give you something. Whatever is in my ability I shall grant it.”
