The news of the Invasion came from the Eastern Flank where the Iron Warriors had stationed themselves. TalOS was not surprised as the Imperium was putting in a gag order from all Imperial Sources across their system. While TalOS knew that Perturabo would honor that gag order his brother knew that his war effort relied heavily upon the shipment of munitions now.
Word was that two Fortress Worlds were taken by the Rangdan in their initial assault, resulting in a few thousand Iron Warriors lost. It was when they ran up against a core of Perturabo’s defenses that the Primarch was able to hold his ground against the incoming hordes of Xenos.
Word was though that they kept coming.
There were billions of humans and other Xenos that were alive at the rim of the galaxy, each of them taken over by the Rangdan puppeteer. Each and everyone of them became a battle form which in high amounts overwhelmed even the Astartes.
That was the reason that the northern front nearly shattered upon its first contact.
Things had become so bad that the Alpha Legion once again appeared before their fellow Legions and gave aid. However they were also met with thousands of Iron Hands who were trying their best to assist in the Galaxy’s defense.
TalOS would guess that it was the Iron Warriors who were receiving a flanking force. However he should have fallen against these incursions and had lost a good amount of his sons in the intial steps of the war. Against this however was that he was now holding the line where those up North were starting to fight skirmishes against the encroaching Xenos.
Things have gotten so bad that TalOS got word that both Leman and Lion had broken out in a brawl over command. It was also noted by the observing Tech Priest that the Lion seemed willing to murder his brother so that he could assume ultimate command of the far North. Whether this Tech Priest was getting too far into the details, placing his own thoughts on the situation, or was accurate will never be known.
It was after this message that TalOS got a message from Leman Russ, one which he expected from the very start. He wished to activate the alliance knowing that while the two brothers butted heads the North was to be lost. Either an arbitrator or another voice was needed to solidify the war and he could depend on TalOS to be that voice.
Thus TalOS was bound by two Oaths.
>Head over to help Leman and the Lion up North.
>Remain on Lucius, as the Emperor intended.
