Afterward, you make your way to your bedroom where Jaq is hanging out. You catch up with what she's been up to. "I've been forming a network of contacts with various students," she says. "It's essential to be well-informed to thrive in one's environment."
"That's smart," you reply. "Have you found anything useful?"
She nods. "Nothing concrete yet, but I'm working on it."
She tells you about visiting the clubs with Alex and says she's thinking about joining the broadcasting club. "The club seems like a great way to get involved with the school and meet new people. Plus, I think it could be rather amusing."
"That's cool," you say.
After listening to Jaq's updates, you explain what you've been up to yourself. "I explored the abandoned section of the school. That section seems to be stuck in a dimensional loop."
"A what?" she asks.
"It's hard to explain," you say. "But basically, the section of the school seems to be existing outside of normal space and time."
Jaq looks at you skeptically. "That sounds a bit crazy."
"I know," you say. "But it's true. I found a room with 'STAY AWAY' written above the door in red. The room seems anchored in reality, so whatever is anchoring it is probably bad news."
She looks visibly worried now. "That sounds really dangerous. Have you told anyone else about this?"
You shake your head. "No, I haven't. I don't want to cause a panic, especially if it's something that the school administration already knows about."
Jaq looks thoughtful as she considers your story. "Certainly, the situation is dangerous," she says. "But it's also an opportunity. This school is a rather awful environment, but few humans that lived ever encountered any anomaly of any sort. It could be a chance to discover secrets no one has ever known about."
You nod in agreement, intrigued by the idea. "And if the school administration doesn't have complete control over the situation," she continues, "that means they might not be able to control us, either. It's a chance for us to make a difference."
"Did you bring anything back from the anomalous section?"
You hesitate for a moment before answering, "Well, I did make a boar-hunting spike out of the wood from one of the desks. But I don't have it with me right now. I can show it to you later if you're interested."
