>>5920208Gazing upon the blaze in Mechikabura's hand, you realize that the flame you'd thought was one is far, far greater. With your ki sense you can feel dozens, no, HUNDREDS of different yet very similar divine powers all pressed in together, their powers combined to create this spectacular inferno the Demon God now holds.
“Hold on. Didn't you just say those are souls?” you ask, confused. To which Mechikabura turns to you, raising his other hand out towards you. And, suddenly, you feel that divine power Chronoa had imbued you with all those years ago blazing up, only to suddenly be ripped out of your chest! You see the flame, a tiny thing, barely more an a spark compared to what he holds. But it is undeniably a piece of that same power. “What?!”
“All power comes from the soul. Even that of the Gods. Especially that of the gods. It is how power is transferred from one deity to their successor.” Beerus states, observing the speck of power Mechikabura ripped from you before turning back to face the Demon God. “But you haven't taken this power. What, did it deny you?”
“Even if it had, I now possess the strength to... Subdue it, should I want.” Mechikabura says, then shakes his head before waving at you. Sending that flame back into your chest. “No, I do not wish to sit in judgment of time. However, this soul has proven two very important things.”
“What things?” you ask, wondering what the Demon God is talking about. “That I'm actually her Apprentice?”
“Ha! You were little more than a pawn in that creature's schemes.” Mechikabura replies, not even looking to you as he raises his right hand towards Beerus. Who immediately looks on guard, only for a mass of his divine power to start emerging from your chest, as had your flame. Although, Beerus' flame is something else entirely. It isn't colored like any fire you've seen, it blazing the same color as his Hakai. “No, it proved two very important truths about this world.”
“Wha-How are you doing that?!” Beerus exclaims, now sounding worried as you sense more and more people gathering, no doubt having sensed Mechikabura's immense divine power. Or for those who can't sensed your return at least.
“Even with all this power, the Destroyer soul is still singular. Which means she has reset existence far more times than I had ever imagined, much less anticipated to accumulate this much power.” Mechikabura continues, waving again and sending Beerus' Destroyer power back into him. Which he accepts, looking now horrified at Mechikabura. Knowing he's outclassed so badly must be as horrifying for him as it was for you, perhaps even more so. “Destroying all of reality over and over and recreating it, accumulating this much power. Which leaves the only question as 'for what purpose?' I suppose I may never know the whole truth.”
