The discovery of the Dark Angels was not the only thing to rupture within the century though. Reports have come in from the south eastern rim where Ferrus Manus set his investigation into the Xenos that lived there. Another form of contact has been made it seems, and a war between the Legion and these Xenos had been marked.
What was an issue TalOS noted was that before Lion El’ Johnson had returned a great many First Legionnaires had thrown themselves at the issue. These forces had been reduced to half their strength. The only reason the Auxilia was not so wounded was reports of the Dominus in command being told to stay back and let the Dark Angels handle the issues presented.
TalOS had not seen many reports from the Auxilia of the First, but TalOS considered that maybe his assistance was never really valued by the sons of the Lion.
For now the front has stabilized with Ferrus Manus holding the ground stubbornly. Fighting was harsh, extremely so, but the warriors of the Tenth found it to their liking. TalOS read reports that Ferrus had called upon all of his sons so they were at full Legion strength. It was too soon to know whether Ferrus was going to be successful or not, but looking at the supply routes Lion El’ Johnson was routing there to finish the job his Legion started.
If this was a threat two Legions could not face then TalOS might see himself being called upon after his demonstration of power with Rogal Dorn.
There were two more things that took the interest of TalOS during this time. One was the news from the Auxilia belonging to the 4th Legion now known as the Iron Warriors and had two parts of it. They were not yet part of the grind in the east but instead found themselves destroying a dug in Xenos Empire in Segentum Obscura. The first part was that the Iron Warrior’s name, and that they had a battle cry worthy of such a name.
Perturabo had taken TalOS’s words to heart and gave his Legion something to crystalize around.
The second part was what took TalOS by surprise. Perturabo made a detour to his home system to destroy a group known as the Black Judges of who TalOS think were a variety of decadent Xenos. Upon their defeat the technology that was taken from the Xenos were gifted to the Lucian Auxilia instead of whatever Martian forces would appear several months later.
It seemed TalOS had done much more for his brother than he could have imagined possible. Without much thought he sent his brother a thank you, but held off sending a gift seeing this act as a penance for all the sons TalOS lost to the 4th Legion’s corruption.
Lastly, beyond everything that had happened before, word had come that another Primarch after Lion El’ Johnson was discovered. This one was named Lorgar Aurelian, and unlike his previous brothers Lorgar accepted TalOS’s invitation to Lucius.
