Unfortunately, it does not go well. The creatures see through the ruse and instead lay a trap of their own, counter-ambushing the would-be ambushers, flanking them and tearing them to pieces, and of course all the while playing with their food. Only a few of our force who were held back are able to escape.
The creatures are intelligent, it seems; underestimating them is proving more and more costly.
In consulting with the scarlet serpent, the naga advocates that there may yet be another means to capture these creatures, in the form of a great pit. If constructed in such a way, they can be lured into it, and they would not be able to escape it even with their acidic jaws.
However, the warrior-priests tire of these efforts to capture these unnatural creatures; a heavy-handed military response should be implemented. Monstrous creatures such as these warrant wiping out. They want to send a large force to face these creatures head-on and wipe them out; send the dragon, too. Fooling them hasn't worked once, there's no reason to think it would work if attempted again, so meet brute force with brute force.
What is our response? Do we attempt to trap them, attack them head-on with a large force (possibly with the dragon) or leave the plains to these demonic hyenas?
