Lex doesn't hesitate for a moment to slip on the brass knuckles onto his hands. Honestly, you assumed he had some already given your general first impressions.
You, meanwhile, grab a bulky hunk of plastic that you think is meant to be a flashlight. The light purple lens glimmers a bit in the morning dawn.
Alexis pulls out what looks like the card of an ETF Agent. "ETF Foxtort" is the name of the supposed agent, with an image of Alexis' face on it.
[SEEKER OF THE CITY] ETF Agents are Cleaners specifically hired to hunt and track down anomalies. While you may track them down as well, ETF Agents are sponsored and heavily assisted by the Companies.
[SEEKER OF THE CITY] Needless to say, people tend to listen to them.
"So!" You clear your throat, trying to think on where to start. "I should probably tell you about the call a bit more."
"Oh? Sure, I guess. We just find a dude and punch him until he follows, right?" Lex blankly stares at you with a goofy smile. Alexis rolls her eyes.
"Continue, please." She murmurs.
You give a quick, short summary of your call to the two. Not that you had to summarize much, given how your Handler didn't give you a lot to work with.
"So, we're probably taking a train over there, I know that much!" That's really as far as you've planned out, really. "What do you guys think?"
"Not my first time dealing with this." Lex plants his foot against the wall behind him. "I say we just break into his apartment. Usually, runners don't have time to clean up everything."
Alexis raises a finger as if to interrupt him but she stops. "Well, that's not a bad idea. I think there's a few issues with it."
"C'mon, it's bulletproof! Hell, I bet no one will even care if we do it. All I gotta do-" Lex kicks at the air. "-is that and bam! In and out!"
"Ah. But what if there's not enough clues to go off of? If a company is after him, wouldn't he try his best to not leave anything behind?"
"...Well, what's your idea, smart guy?" Lex crosses his arms with a grumble.
"We should talk around! Surely, he wasn't just some random recluse! At the bare minimum, the landlord had to know him, right?" Alexis stuffs her fake ID into her pocket. "We can grill him on when he last saw him!"
"If that fails? Well, his neighbors surely saw or heard something, right?"
You nod along. Both of their plans have their merits, you could see yourself doing either of them. Though, you have a few reservations on both...hm. You'll mull it over.
"Oh, right! You guys have phones, right?"
The others stare at you like you're a dumbass. You stand there, doe-eyed, with a nervous smile.
"Yes." "Yes." It takes them a second to realize why you asked. You see Lex's eyes light up first. "Oh, sure!" He pulls out a hunk of junk that was probably made five decades ago.
"Eh, why not."
You quickly exchange phone numbers with each other. Good, good! best that you get that out of the way now.
