This random tangent was based on a discussion on the King & Queen of Qst (rip Kima), but I didn't want to post it over there since it was off topic.
>>5977290I had a random thought about the concept of multi-verse or universe-hopping Quests. I actually think Kingdom Hearts has the best examples of it. You have multiple worlds with a standardized enemy faction (heartless) that can appear in any world, the MC or other characters can transform to fit the theme of that world to make it less immersion breaking then something like a pure isekai, and each world also has a goal (the keyhole) with a sort of cosmic or karmic significance. Plus if you actually did a Kingdom Hearts Quest, you could run it into ANY media, not just Disney properties, which might lead to some interesting universe-hopping shenanigans. Just imagine the Covenant aliens getting turned into heartless because they can't put aside their differences with the humans. Go through hell in Dante's Inferno to seal Lucifer's keyhole. It's so gay, I love this shit.
