>>5354876For now, you’ll only drag Eddie along to the warehouse, his knowledge of FutureLabs being essentially priceless. Boleski and the Healer will definitely be hearing all about it later, but your planning will be a lot more effective if you just bring the people who will get it done and get it done right.
Only downside to not having either of your new recruits is that you won’t get a chance to see Matt’s and Bernard’s new suits tonight, since there’s no real reason for any of you to dress the part of hero.
At the very least you won’t have to go through the rigmarole of putting on your suit, instead throwing on something more comfortable like a fresh T-shirt. Though, the number of clean, viable shirts you have in your possession is rapidly diminishing.
“Pharos and Jewel.” Eddie greets Valjean and Julia. For tonight’s gathering, the technopath had made himself at home within an old burner phone, the device in Matt’s hand coming to life in a flash of light blue.
“We haven’t properly met, but you might know me as Ermac.” Although Eddie has been watching the two for a long while via the security system he built, this is his first time actually meeting either of them face-to-face.
“So you’re the man-made-machine?” Valjean drawls, leaning back in his seat.
“That I am. As it stands, my consciousness exists as code and will continue to exist as such until I’ve returned to my body.” He informs the former Crux leader. “Jewel looks well.” Eddie points out, to which Julia starts at being addressed.
“Do I…know you?” She stares curiously at the phone.
“You shouldn’t, and you wouldn’t have remembered me even if we did meet.” The technopath answers.
“Oh.” Julia seems to understand, eyes cast downwards. “I’d–I’d rather not remember that if I had to…”
An uncomfortable silence settles over the table, Julia shuffling a bit closer to Valjean. He doesn’t seem all-too-happy that Eddie had dug up those old bones, but it’s hard to deny something that shaved away all-but the smallest fraction of her memory.
