“Yeah!” you chime in, feeling emboldened by your brother's shouting. “I like Maz as he is, I don't wanna have to share my brain with a weirdo!”
“Maz... Kayle...” Tomitsu says, sounding completely shocked by both of your outbursts. The fusion warrior seems so surprised that they fall out of the transformed state, reverting back to base form and staring at you both. It doesn't say anything, but as you see the hurt come over that face that looks almost like either of your siblings', you start to feel kind of bad for it. “I-I just wanted you... Wanted you both to get to have what the three of us have. But, if you don't want to, I can't force you.”
And without another word Tomitsu kicks off the ground, blitzing away. Making your guts feel all wriggly and uncomfortable. Suddenly you want to go apologize to Tomitsu, but Maz turns angrily from him back to you.
“Thanks for backing me up. I thought you'd think the same way I did, but I was worried you might agree with them instead.” he says, reminding you of something Tomi had told you. How she and Tatsu, since they were born, were always able to read each other's mind, to always be talking telepathically before learning that was a thing. And you feel jealous of your big brother and sister, wishing you and Maz were that close. Maybe learning this whole fusion thing would be worth it after all? Yet as you're sitting there in your doubts, suddenly you sense your biggest brother's energy. A moment later he appears next to you both, a scowl on his face.
“Broly?” you ask him, surprised that he's here now. “What's going on?”
“I sensed Tomitsu take off, leaving you both and was worried.” he replies, looking from you to your brother's faces. “What happened? I thought you were going to train together today?”
“Well...” you say, looking towards your brother. Who is silent a moment before speaking up.
“We don't want to learn fusion anymore.” he tells him, your oldest brother's brows furrowing a bit. “We're done.”
“Yeah.” you chime in. “We don't want to turn out like that.”
“What?” he asks, the anger in his tone causing you to slap both hands over your mouth so no other words that make him angry come out. He takes a deep breath, then continues. “Kayle, what do you mean by that? What happened?”
