Out of all the games she made, the shooting range and virtual training course stood out to you. Mostly because you considered yourself to be good at both, and you weren't above flaunting that fact to everyone present.
And to your mild surprise, everyone else was willing to join you in the shooting mini-game. This required Ember to create a few more guns, but that didn't seem to bother her too much.
The guns in question looked more like plastic blaster pistols that looked like they could be found at a Disneyland theme park. They were blue, green and white, with oversized orange barrels and lots of useless tubes and wires that only served to make the gun look needlessly bulky.
Despite all that, however, they were a bit heavier than you would’ve expected. And if Ember made them to be real, then they were probably real. You would just have to be careful not to point them at one another.
The risk of friendly fire was further increased by the fact that everyone was dual-wielding blasters. Everyone other than Flint, that is. He was wielding four blasters after having grown two extra arms out of his torso.
“Everyone ready?” Ember asked.
When she didn’t hear any refusals, she started a countdown clock that completely encircled your group, leading you to realize that the monsters would be coming from every angle.
Your fears were confirmed as soon as the timer hit zero.
Multi-colored, generic demons with horns and bony protrusions spawned into existence before your very eyes in a flash of fire. Each one was a single, solid color. They wore no clothes, their eyes were small and beady, and they had ridiculously sharp fangs and claws.
These were very obviously the monsters that required immediate extermination. At first, you were a bit worried that Ember was going to add some innocent civilians into the mix, but you saw no evidence of such a mechanic being included into this shooting range.
So with that concern out of the way, you were free to let loose and unload. And in the blink of an eye, the entire first wave of demons were eliminated by you and your crew.
You were always a crack-shot, and your spider powers only served to enhance that trait. Your bullets simply went where you wanted them to go. Simple as.
So for every flashy maneuver and flourish, you were rewarded with a pixelated explosion that looked to be ripped straight out of a Megaman game.
Araña complained about the effect being too obstructive, so Ember added a quick bug fix to the next wave of demons.
Unsurprisingly, the thief girls had pretty good aim for kids their age. You wondered if they picked up the skill during their time in Gloria’s employ, or if they were taught by this “Low School” that they'd mentioned.
