>>5348443You explain all your points with the same spiel you did to Boleski: Conduit becoming a living mutant tracker, FutureLabs drugging him into oblivion, and the like. Whatever the Healer had been expecting from you and Valjean, it certainly wasn’t what you’re telling her now.
As you press on, you watch as her skin becomes increasingly pale, likely shell shocked from the whole thing.
“What the hell?!” The Healer’s voice is one small step away from a shriek. “That’s impossible!”
“No, it isn’t.” You shake your head. “FutureLabs has ways to completely change a mutant’s power, but whatever it does to them affects their mind as well.”
“Is that what happened to–” She stops herself short, words lost on her tongue. “Is that what happened to that one girl?” Though she’d all-but forgotten her in name and face, you know that the Healer is definitely referring to Julia. “How is she doing anyways?”
“She’s definitely more lively, thanks to you,” Valjean informs her. “I don’t think anyone would’ve guessed she had actual cranial damage.”
“It’s definitely something you wouldn’t have been able to tell right-off-the-bat, especially if she was still recovering from amnesia and whatever else FutureLabs might’ve done to her…” She trails off.
A silence overtakes the room, the Healer seeming to be contemplating something as her eyes center back on you. “Why are you telling me all of this?”
“Because we need your help.” You return, gauging the woman for a reaction. “We’d like you to work with us.”
