The Machine Spirit of the buzzer sounded off as Fulgrim fell to one knee. No longer trapped within a piece of Dark Age Technology he was given his few seconds to breath and realize what happened. Of all the things TalOS expected it was not Fulgrim rising with a dangerous smile creeping upon his face.
“You’ve beaten me, Brother.” He announced outright with a small amount of anger going through his tongue, “I had heard that Leman Russ called you the Dragon. When I looked upon you from the battlefield you were not a man or a King, but a beast playing with his prey. It is an adequate name, and I will make sure everyone knows you by it.”
Those words were a coping mechanism. TalOS was being dehumanized by the Primarch in an attempt to save face. After all, if TalOS was not a Primarch but a Dragon, then maybe he was greater than the most perfect of beings. In the end TalOS did not feel it was reasonable to correct him and rub salt into those wounds, especially when it only made TalOS’s own image greater.
“You should heed the words of my brother, never insult me within my own lair. These are my worlds Fulgrim, and I will guard them selfishly.” TalOS responded to drive the point home.
“I will keep that in mind.” Languished the man as he rose to meet his brother’s eyes, “I had come here for many things TalOS but the prime most above them all was a summons by a request by our Father. I had heard that he did not think it at first, but all of our other brothers partitioned your entry as the Mechanicum Representative in the War Council.”
TalOS looked upon his brother confused for a moment, “While I am Fabricator General that does not give me the rights to represent the entire Mechanicum. This should go through the proper channels.”
“TalOS you are stiff.” Fulgrim shot back with a hint of annoyance, “I stand here today as testament that you should be the one sitting on the council, not some no-named Priest from Mars. I nor Horus will stand for anyone other than our brothers to sit upon the Council!”
>Accept his invitation
