As the corpse of the chimera fades into motes of light, a fluffy fur lined cloak pops into existence and floats down into your hands. Long enough to reach the back of your knees, its hood emulates the shape of a lion's head. The fur also happens to be soft and silky smooth in a way that doesn't irritate your skin. Perhaps not as fine as your raiment, but it's something that you could tolerate wearing if you needed to.
"That was..." riding up on the pupper, Astra stares at you with wide green eyes. "Anticlimactic. Seriously making me feel inadequate as an adventurer."
"He was a noble hearted beast," you say, throwing the [Pelt of the Nemean Lion] over your shoulders. "It would have dishonored him to hold back simply to allow the fight to drag on. Virtue must be honored with strength commensurate to its worth. It is not as though he was a misbehaving pup who needed a bop upon his snout to remember to behave."
The stormwolf alpha whimpers, remembering how you chastised him early that day.
"Right..." Astra sounds uncertain. Perhaps things are done differently in the elvenglades. "Well, you've just killed the boss of this region, and your status says that there are three more to go before the Floor Guardian comes out."
"Status?" you ask.
You know the meaning of the word, but you don't know how that would tell her how many more regional bosses you need to kill.
"Elven divination magic," Astra explains it without explaining anything. When she realizes her blunder, she elaborates that, "It invokes the knowledge of the Tome Aeternal to read all the information that exists about something, and then condenses it into a digestable visual format. Of course, you need to have read the Tome Aeternal without going mad first for it to work, and what exactly you get from it is limited by your access levels."
You scratch your chin. "And what does it say of me, besides the matter of the Region Bosses and Floor Guardian."
"Not much," Astra admits. "Even your basic attributes are hidden behind an [access denied] warning. Just about the only thing I can read are your tailoring sizes, and I'm just gonna come out and say that J-Cups are entirely unfair to the rest of us, you know."
"It is my purpose to exceed the ordinary in all things," you explain to her.
"Right..." she says. "Anyways, what now? Region boss is dead, we're at the giant glowing tree, and the gods only know what time it is."
What do you do?
>Set up camp. You only came here to see if it would lead you forward, and the chimera accomplished that.
>Shake the mushroom and see if anything interesting falls out. (Roll a d100)
>Punch the tree really, REALLY hard.
>See if you can uproot the mushroom tree and bring it with you.
