The incursion into the southeast of the town seemed quiet enough- at first. Supporting fire caused a retreat from anti-tank assets, and the first buildings were driven through without incedent…
Then, a sudden reignition of hostilities. From many directions, a barrage of dull glass projectiles showered forth upon Martins’ platoon, where they burst into bright white fireballs, that sparkled with crackling spits for but moments before spilling burning ichor all over. Most of them had, thankfully, missed hitting anything critical, or hitting the tanks at all, but it was nevertheless an unpleasant discovery- every soldier knew about firebottles and their danger, but these were clearly a development of some sort from those, because they did not explode like mere petrol bombs.
Some unlucky members of Raine’s platoon were caught as they were forced to dismount early, as well- but Raine had prepared his men with Flamethrowers, and the incendiary attack would surely be met in kind.
Similar chaos began in the south center of Kobberhus, as advancing infantry caught their enemies unprepared- while not prepared to fight themselves. Hasty skirmishes and taking up of positions would be the precursor to a bloody brawl, whilst in the west, a curious band of what seemed to be Petrekoran armor…advanced forward, showing themselves. Odd…
