“I take it that it was an experiment of sorts, to see the results of binding an Astartes to theEmperor?” TalOS asked Malcador to get a little more information about the process, “Do we think it can be perfected?”
“It can be, if a bit difficult due to their proximity to the Emperor.” Malcador said as he gave a small nod, “The issue becomes that they are not like other humans. They are much closer to their gene-grandfather than normal humans, meaning in a sense they are already bound to him. It is because of this that soul-binding is dangerous thanks to their connections to him.”
“Then the rituals are too extreme.” TalOS pointed out as he looked at Luther, “They go too far in one direction and send my sons into the maul that is the Emperor’s soul.”
“In that you are correct. Unlike others it is far easier for them to fly too close to the sun.” Malcador answered with a small nod, “There are benefits though. Their resistance to our enemies grow tenfold and have a chance of even being immune to them.”
That was enough to get TalOS to raise his brow, “Do they know?”
“We do as much as Lord Malcador has informed us.” Luther admitted as he placed a hand on his chest to indicate his own presence, “I hear them Father, even behind all of these wards. Only when I look upon you and the Astronomicon do they cease. Father, I have fought many wars upon Terra and under your banner during the Reconquista, but I felt horror for the first time when my eye was opened.”
“What has the binding given you?” TalOS placed forward next.
“Peace. The Emperor is their anathema in all manners. No matter what those foul powers do they cannot touch me now. I have also gained wisdom in what might be done next to help my brothers succeed if we attempt it again.”
“Thoughts?” Malcador put forward to TalOS with a small smirk.
>Continue the experiments with Soul-Binding. If this succeeds, a new breed of Astartes shall be made.
>Shove as many of them through so that they can all be cleansed. Forcibly evolve the geneseed.
>Cease this insanity.
