“As far as I’m told, she unclogged the exit route we used and grabbed some valuables before scurrying off again. The cameras caught a final glance once they were turned back on.” Hanno explains. That should tell you why nobody found her, she went to the one place no one was looking for her!
“Puzzling behavior, what item could be worth risking your life for?” Dempsey plays with his mustache. “Any suggestions?”
“I have one or two, but I don’t believe she’s in possession of one of the Crystal Pieces.” Hanno thinks.
“Hmm? How come a mere fraction of a mineral can be important?” Dempsey doesn’t get it. But you do.
“Not any crystal, but *the* one.” Hanno didn’t expect the boxer to know about the war. “I’d tell you if I had one, just need to ask.”
“Well, Do—“ You were about to ask Hanno the all-important question, but your phone rings incessantly. You can feel the panic in the call. “S-Sorry, I'll only be a moment.”
You walk out of the room to answer the phone.
“PRICK! DON’T FRICKIN’ ASK HIM ANYTHING!!!” Susie shouts like her life depends on it. She’s not currently inside the shop or else you would’ve heard her echo…
“W-What’s going on?” You’re confused.
“I-I knew I heard this wall of bricks from somewhere! Double Prick Richard met him during his stupid mission I so magnanimously helped him with! His powers extract information! Whatever you ask him, he’ll get the answers to the same question as if he asked you! I think he has to answer honestly to make it work, but I don’t believe that doo-doo, no matter how that idiotic detective said so!” A hysterical Neko lets you know. “Just. Don’t. Talk. To. Him.”
Susie hangs up.
This makes things harder. Or easier. But still complex. Whatever you do, you need to play it smartly. Or maybe call it quits and don’t risk anything. Decisions…
