Is this what your life is going to be now? This? Tolerating the chatter of people you barely know? Tolerating the drab, metallic labyrinth you're stuck in? Tolerating the job you had to learn on the fly? Tolerating ARC and the nonsensical, almost malicious sponsorship companies they work with?
...Tolerating the violence you have to indulge in so you can survive another day? Who knows how much pain will be thrown your way even just a week from now? Who knows when you'll have to kill another human being just so you can survive another day? You're not a killer, you say to yourself, yet there's blood on your hands. You did it to defend yourself but...can you do it again? Can you even survive another fight? Will you find yourself desensitized to it? Is that what ARC wants?
A sigh you didn't know you were holding in hisses out of your throat. You'll have to sleep on it. Today was long, exhausting and painful. The least you can ask for is a good night sleep.
Exhaustion from everything that happened today washes over you. A strong floral smell radiates from the flower growing out of you. It helps you to sleep, even as your mind is flooding with conflicting thoughts.
Your thoughts begin to fade as traces of dreamless sleep creep in. Your thoughts meld and blend together into a dull grey haze, with only the occasional speck of something red and something green visible through the haze.
As you prepare for sleep to overtake you, for another day of your new existence to begin, a single thought lingers in your mind.
One that you've tried your best not to dwell on until right now. Mostly because you really didn't have an answer to it. You're not sure if there even is a right answer to it.
Well. There's no time like now to answer this question, is there?
How will you cope with this meaningless, absurd life you're stuck in, Vincent?
>Embrace the absurdity of it. You'll strive to understand this new world and how to survive it.
>Embrace the mundanity of it. You can find purpose within your new job and the people who work with.
>Embrace the meaningless of your new life. within this metallic labyrinth, you'll create your own purpose.
>Endure your new obligations. You'll survive and endure anything this cursed facility throws at you. Nothing will break you.
>Let your resentment fester. ARC, the sponsorship companies, the Heart...you'll find a way to get back at them.
>Write in.
