Samantha’s declaration is met with a resounding silence. Not even the AirPod is speaking. The girl looks around nervously. “…g-guys?”
Clover slaps her own face a few times to wake herself up, then stands abruptly. “Officer McGruff. Report for duty!” The dog was resting a little ways off, pawing at its snout intermittently as if to reset its sense of smell, but immediately rises at her command.
As the dog trots over, Samantha watches with trepidation. “w-what are you planning to do, clover?” She’s already fully aware of what the wolf-girl's response is going to be, but she asks the question anyway, hoping beyond hope that she'd be wrong.
“Heh heh…” Clover pushes up her non-existent glasses. “It’s time… for us to take up the mantle of the great Sherlock Howlmes!”

Clover throws open the door, then the three of them gag in unison once more, covering their noses. Lorene thought they would have been desensitized to it at this point, but perhaps it was simply a smell one could not become desensitized to. Their retreat into fresh air had been nice while it lasted.
“a-alright, pack-mates!” The wolf-girl is a little woozy on her feet, having taken the brunt of it. “Let’s go! Wolves aren’t s-scared of anything! Look it up!” She heads in with the dog, without even looking back to see if the others were following.
Lorene sighs, but silently heads in as well. Samantha just utters a single word in despair. “…why?!”

“Samantha.” There’s a faint urgency in Hermione’s voice. “You need to head in too, quickly. Ensure they don’t do anything stupid.”
Samantha nods, eyes wide, but already prepared. If she didn’t restrain them, they might destroy evidence, or even worse, incriminate all three of them!
