So I think what has happened to Morfran the Rewilder after the Archon benevolently consented to confine him into tending the arcology gardens, hydroponics aeroponic vertical farms etc... Morfran has become restless and frustrated. If you had harshly interrogated him, thrown him out the airlock... the sight of his martyrdom might have stirred some residual feelings of sympathy for him amongst his previous followers, as of now your loyal, dedicated Haemolymph addicted ZEALOTS.
But your relatively lenient and merciful treatment of him has resulted in Morfran being completely and utterly abandoned and forgotten by them... the Zealots also gawk at the wondrous technological marvels furnished by your Holy Grid arcology, and now recognise the folly of ever being swayed by whatever Morfran was trying to offer them - they will never go back to his Rewilder teachings.
So Morfran is just neglected and listless and alone. A part of him wants to sabotage the arcology, poison the food supply or oxygen recycling systems... but doing so would involve killing and harming the plants, damaging the environment, which would go against Rewilder beliefs. He secretly wants to do this, and see the arcology sabotaged, fail and collapse as he predicted... yet he is too cowardly to do so and hates himself for it. So he just aimlessly waters the plants and monitors various biosensor readings, feeling dejected and frustrated.
Until one day, Morfran receives a visitor...
