Lorene stares at the two outfits in front of her. She could either wear her school uniform, or wear the oversized T-shirt with her jeans. She had nothing else in her closet.
Today was Ruth’s birthday. Convenient that it was right after their finals, as it gave the three of them an excuse to celebrate and hang out. Ruth and Olivia were her friends, and the only people in the world she trusted. While she loved her parents, she wouldn’t trust them with a dime. They’d just give it away to the first person they saw.
The three friends had known each other since elementary school, therefore Lorene was certain of their character. Up to a certain extent of course, you could never believe in someone completely. Out of the two, Olivia was more reliable. Ruth was quiet, and timid, and Lorene couldn’t really trust her to overcome that fear.
Lorene slaps herself. It was horrible to think of Ruth that way. Especially on her birthday. The fatigue from killing that Witch last night must have been getting to her. She needed to ensure she didn’t become someone she hated.
