>C, Bond with Future
And now, finally, time for the work orders. You decide to start with one of the simpler ones since let's be honest, you're already handling a lot. Employee C is more than willing to come over there and enter the containment cell.
Employee C steps forward to the vanguard of this facility.
C: Hey! It's just, uh, me again. How's it been?
The knight in shining armor loosens the grip on its sword.
It hisses out a pained breath, finding it hard to speak.
ANOMALY: It has been alright. Preparing, waiting, to purge the corruption in this cursed facility.
The anomaly pauses, noticing the robotic arm where C's arm stump used to be.
ANOMALY: Intriguing. Man and machine, together. Not used to seeing such a combination.
C: Y-yeah! It's cool! I can actually hold things now! S-shame this place is reeking of soulless creatures, isn't it?
ANOMALY: Perhaps, in a sense.
Employee C stutters, losing the wind blowing in her sails.
C: S-so. I heard you were r-relieved about something. What was that about, Future?
ANOMALY: Oh.
C: Uh, I didn't hit a nerve or something, r-
ANOAMLY: No, no, it's fine. I was busy sleeping and dreaming about a time long, long before the time I am stuck in now.
ANOMALY: An hour before waking up, my back broke out into a shivering mess. For a moment, I thought that my worse self was coming back.
ANOMALY: I suppose I am relieved that the horrid presence that entered this place was simply an evil I can actually slay.
C: W-well, I d-don't know what that means but I'm glad you're doing fine, sir!
ANOMALY: Of course, but it's still lingering on my mind. Do you have anything you could suggest to help calm my nerves?
C: Well...when I always felt bad, I would always go to my brothers. You could try talking to some of your old...Reminder friends, maybe?
ANOMALY: Perhaps. I know that it is not my will that controls who enters through that door anymore.
ANOMALY: As long as I can keep my worse self from returning, it is fine whoever comes in here. As long as I can control those desires.
Employee C is confused about all of this talk about "worse self" he keeps talking about
She tries her best to look supportive for him, at least.
C: Well, I'll try my best to help you through this. You helped me once before in a bad place, maybe I can do the same to you?
C: Just, uh, don't try to kill anyone or mess with their heads. Alright?
The anomaly goes silent for a moment before hissing out a sigh, disappointed at itself.
ANOMALY: I will try. I can not claim I was harmless, nor that my old habits have disappeared completely. But I will try.
C: Thank you. That's all I ask for. Have a good day, Future.
The anomaly nods as Employee C exits the containment cell. Now, there is only a knight protecting a cell.
His worse self, huh? The hell does that mean?
