The glimmer that had settled upon Lucian began to fade as the sun dropped towards the afternoon. His eyes quickly found Bok, the Kroxigor, covered in all manners of scars but sleeping at the side of the lake. He was covered in a dozen cuts and bruises, many of them looking close to lethal. Not to mention how dirty he was covered in all the filth and blood of the monster that came upon him.
He looked further upon his body and of all the things the Knight expected, it was not the symbol that was at the center of his chest above his heart.
The Rune of Dregni, carved into his very flesh, told Lucian that what had happened to him was not a lie. What he felt was actually the Rune of Dregni for even though the Knight was without his armor the man was blessed by the Dwarfen God of the Slayers with a inkling of his power. Said power came from the rune that was now carved into his flesh.
It was then that Lucian rose to his feet, and the Knight realized how much better he felt. The strength that he had been lacking for so long was returning, the power flooding his veins. He was not at his height but it was something where he could manage. Feeling the power of the rune, Lucian was certain that he could potential reach those heights in strength if pushed to it.
As he noticed the neat pile of green cloths near him the Knight realized the truth of the matter. That in all truth he had likely killed his first in three monsters that terroized the island of Albion. Perhaps by accomplishing this the Knight had gained part of his strength back, and a blessing from one of his three benefactors.
Sliding into the cloth, Lucian realized that he did not wish to dare stain the lake with anything. He would not wash himself within it nor would he drink from it. He would need to guide Bok away from it, though the beast likely already took a drink from it.
What Lucian did know what that this lake, and whoever helped him, would both be things he remembered.
