Joe is interrupted by the sound of struggling coming from over the edge of the cliff! Suddenly, Diamond's hand pops up over the edge and grabs a hold of the ground, and next to her, Rattletrap's head pops up and it sinks its teeth into the dirt!
A gust of wind catches Diamond's hat and blows it off her head! Diamond reaches out to grab it and starts to fall, but then Rattletrap lets go to try and catch her and they both fall backward off the cliff!
"We'd better get going before those two make it back up the cliff." Joe gestures up the road in the direction he came. "Come on, let's hurry."
The two of you start running up the road! After a few minutes you slow down to catch your breath and you hear the sound of a motor approaching! You and Joe climb up the bank into the trees and hide. A moment later Diamond speeds by in her car with Rattletrap stuffed into the back seat! The car is going so fast you barely have time to see the bandage on Rattletrap's lure as their car speeds away to the east.
You shift your position to stand back up, but Joe puts his hand on your arm!
What? <span class="mu-r">Joe's hand</span> is on your arm! Why is this a big deal? It's just a hand!
"Wait." Joe seems to be expecting something! You're not sure what is happening. Joe is watching up the road where Diamond's car went! He doesn't seem to be moving, so you crouch back down next to him.
A few moments later, you start to hear the sound of a motor approaching again! Diamond's car is coming back toward you! It seems like Joe knows a lot of things about humans!
The car slows down and Diamond and Rattletrap both peer out at the trees. After they pass, you can hear the sound of the car speeding up again!
It seems like Diamond is looking for you!
"I think we should stay off the road for now." Joe looks in the direction of Diamond's car. "Let's get a bit further into the forest."
You think that might be a good idea!
