>>5350944“Tonight’s good,” You tell Matt because earlier is always better in your opinion.
“Gotcha– tonight it is.”
It’s not even the afternoon, which means you have plenty of time before then. One thing you’d been thinking about are those diamond swords you got from Ralph– swords which might as well have been pulled straight from Meinkraft.
“Why don’t we give those swords a try?” You suggest to the others, and later sees you outside of the city in some empty field of Bernard’s choosing.
“Why couldn’t we have done this on our beach?” You wonder why you couldn’t have just chosen the easier and closer place to do this.
“One: we needed the guy who actually knows how to use a knife, the guy who also happens to be the most wanted mutant in the city–” Matt throws a hand out to Valjean. “Two: we needed a second person who wouldn’t get hurt when we beat the shit out of them with said knives.” He makes a motion to Julia.
“I only came to see if they were real.” Valjean crosses his arms. “Hate to rain on your parades, but is it really a good idea to get injured before our next mission?”
“We have the Healer.” Matt states. “And Ellie.”
“Last time I checked, the Healer wasn’t free, midget.” Valjean objects, taking one of the diamond swords to inspect it. “And isn’t real-life diamond fundamentally brittle? It’ll shatter as soon as you hit it on something hard enough.” He points out.
“It doesn’t follow real-life physics, dumbass. It follows video game logic. Video games–” Matt explains, as if it were plainly obvious. “It shouldn’t break fast at all unless you hit it on something that isn’t alive.”
“Sounds fun.” A grin spreads across Valjean’s face, one that shows too many teeth to be a nice one. “Explain to me how a Meinkraft sword works again, midget. Never touched Meinkraft in my life.”
“You’ve never played Meinkraft?!” Matt is appalled, but, quickly recovering from his shock, the two of them fall into a heated discussion about how to properly use the diamond swords.
