>>5879733You find yourself hesitant.
To accept Aemon’s help would be the simplest and most logical thing to do, but your pride…hells you’ve really hit rock bottom uh? Nothing to your name save a few gold coin, a horse and a half-broken longsword.
No matter.
You will rebuild.
And so, with a sigh…you nod.
> “If you’ll put up with me, I’ll gladly accept your offer of a room and a job for now…but only until I can get my military rank reinstated. And I won’t accept any handout – I’ll pay you a fair rent.”Aemon seems to think.
”Alright, how about this then – I need someone good with weapons, that can run security for my shipments, or some errands from time to time. I can’t offer you much, but I’d say…how does half a dozen gold coins per month sound? That counting the rent you’d pay me already.”
It’s a semi-decent wage, no way around it. Easily comparable to what you made in the army, if you count only the wage…of course, in the army they also gave you extra pay to maintain your weapons, armor, horse…but still, beggars cannot be choosers.
> “Deal. At least for now. And…listen, you don’t happen to know where I could go and armor up by any chance, at a decent price?”Aemon smirks at this and simply writes you a small note.
”Give this to the owner of the “Armored Quill” – go out the door, down 3 blocks, then 2 blocks on the left. You can’t miss it. Tell him Aemon sent you – he’ll give you a small discount.”
The older man stands, with difficulty, and simply nods at you.
”Now…is there anything else you need to know? Otherwise…catch.”
He tosses you a key.
”Your quarters are upstairs. Go up the stairs to the second floor, red door.”
