“Well, that wasn't my intention.” you reply with a bit of a drawl, leaning back in your seat a bit while grinning back. “But you're on.”
“Haha, that's the spirit!” she says, grin turning to a full smile. To which you smile back, the ease of conversation you're having with this alien being surprising you.
You are Krillin, the last student of the late Turtle Hermit Master Roshi, one of the last martial artists on the planet, and after teaming up with the Red Ribbon army after your disastrous encounter with one of Piccolo's minions, Tamborine nearly killed you, you'd become a part-human part-robot fighting machine. And with the help of fellow martial artist disciples-turned-androids Tien and Yamcha, had bested the Demon King Piccolo. Peace had come to your world, only for him to somehow return. Only for aliens to land the same day, 'conquering' your world and taking the Demon King to a world of his own kind. And as if all of that wasn't wild enough, THEN your daughter, a daughter of you from another timeline appeared, was attacked by a being who resembles the woman now sitting across from you without the scars and personality, bested by your other timeline's grandfather only for him to bring his daughter to you, introducing you both. And, while you're not entirely sure how she feels about you, for you it was love at first sight. There's something about her, in her confidence, her clear power, and the way she carries herself that just draws her to you.
“So, why'd you bring me here? What made you think I'd be up for a challenge?” she asks, bringing you back out of your thoughts. “I'm sure there are all sorts of places to eat on this world, so why here?”
“Well, you look like the type of person who enjoys a good challenge.” you reply, gesturing to her with your left. “You don't get scars like that by running away from a fight. But how did you get them? Especially the ones over your eyes, those look like you got them years apart. But somehow managed to not lose either of your eyes, which is impressive.”
“Well, the newest is the tail, but this one here's the second-newest, when my best friend betrayed me to steal my Champion title.” Chaya says, gesturing to her right eye, then to her left as she talks about each in turn. “Her chainsaw nearly got my eye, I got lucky there. But this left one, that was... Gosh, I don't even remember how long ago. I was Champion back then, but that was that splitjaw energy sword trying to take my head off back then. So I couldn't have been more than fourteen? Maybe fifteen at the time.”
