The room looked to be closer to a ballroom than a standard conference hall. With chandeliers and etched dancing spaces all around the room TalOS assumed this place to be a gathering location for those of Nobility. If this meeting was more public like the previous one, then this room would have been filled with people. Due to the reasoning of this meeting being such a dire one it was empty of people.
Only the Custodians, Guards of the Emperor, stood within the room. Never within the Imperial Palace shall they be absent. That was especially so with the Emperor present within these halls.
“What do you want, Brother?” Perturabo said with a perpetual irritation within his voice. He did not have this irritation within his heart though.
“I wanted to thank you for taking command over the Eastern Front for me.” TalOS said as he gave a small bow.
The eyes of the Iron Warrior sharpened while narrowing upon TalOS, “You are not going to be there?”
TalOS gave a shameful nod while trying his best to show remorse upon his face, “Upon the request of our Father I shall be leaving the battlefield to the matters of the Imperium. I have been informed that he wishes for me to research something. Or atleast, that is what I understand it as.”
“Hmmph.” Perturabo’s face did not change as he looked upon TalOS. At this moment it seemed to TalOS that Perturabo’s inner and outward emotions was no longer tied to his forms of expression. When he feels like laughing for joy he with growl. In this instance, sadness was shown with annoyance and scorn, “Will you still be sending your Legion to defend it?”
TalOS smiled to such a question, “I will be sending what is reasonable. However, the Emperor has informed me that you will accomplish this no matter how many troops I give you.”
A spark of emotion flared as the Iron Face began to light up from behind. He still did not speak with the honor and excitement that he held within his heart, “If that is the case give me nothing. If the Emperor sees me successful then I need nothing.”
