You decide to contact your Father instead of the Hegemony directly.
”Kima- get someplace to hide quick! Idiots decided to hatch a plot in the Hegemonic Control building- ha! There are already a good hundred Enforcers in the building. I'll be right there to begin the interrogations myself...”
Within mere seconds, the building is swarmed with drones, scanning every floor and every room- even if the spies were contortionists, they couldn't hide from the full building lockdown. The Enforcers stormed in next, armed with shotguns- but truly with intent to capture.
Outside, your father waits for you. He arrived in only a few minutes; a transport skiff brought him here in seconds. It seems he trusted your judgment enough to not think you were only pulling his leg.
”Profligate! Who- or what do you work for?! The Hegemony has you know- there is no escape from me. We can keep you alive as long as we need- your punishment is endless torture- until we get what we need! The more cooperate, the faster I will end your worthless life. Speak!”
”Ooww! Fuck! Ouch!”
As it turns out; neither of the men are Jaxtians. They are actually aliens from the Consortium! The collection of stars and species, tightly bound together by business contracts and political lubrication by the omnipotent space worms, has sent spies to subvert and steal the secrets of the Hegemony. But their most daring plot, and the one that you ended up foiling, was one to disable a safety feature of your father's anti-nuclear-weapon technology, likely causing his death and the death of many top inventors and scientists, as well as discrediting the technology, weakening the Hegemony.
”Spies! On Jaxt!”
The aliens wore skin suits- using highly cloned and modified Jaxtian DNA. The Hegemony has no idea where they accessed it in the first place; but due to how unusual it was, the aliens chose to imitate Indigos as their DNA will be less obviously “Jaxtian” at a glance. On top of this, they used advanced AI technology to hide their actions and create false persona; Alet Takar isn't a real person; the aliens invented him after many of the Takar were shamed when one of their sons dueled the Supreme Ruler and fled from the homeworld to regain some face.
”If there are more- we'll find them!”
