The group had fell silent in thought as they planned out what they were to do. The idea of simply getting it over with, bringing a daemon upon them was not as foolish an idea as one would think. Yet it was surely going to lead to their deaths, something that could not be accepted when the threat loomed over Bretonnia.
Lucian could hold onto the blade, yet he did not want to. The weapon was his antithesis and would forever attempt to drag him down. A dead weight, one that the Knight did not want to deal with as they traveled towards Albion.
It remained one option, “Gillot, would you become the Warden of the Sword?”
The helm of the Knight tilted as he heard such a declaration, “You want me to carry this damned sword into Bretonnia?”
“Is there much else for us to choose?” Lucian pointed out as his hand went across the room, “There is no place that we can entomb it where the Skaven will not simply grab it. The vermin had already proven themselves willing to work with the undead, and a weapon like this will simply take over the mind of the one who wielded it.”
Gillot’s eyes narrowed as he heard one of the easier explanations, “To destroy it would bring ruin to us, correct? And what of you carrying it to Albion?”
“It's dead weight to me.” Lucian admitted with a sigh, “You’re a swordsman, Gillot. I am simply a peasant who became a Knight through skill with the Scythe. If you believe it right perhaps you can take it to one of the Lady’s Chapels.”
Gillot looked at the blade again, his hand hesitantly inching towards the blade. Yet he did not grip it in an instant, instead holding off as he spoke, “Its a burden that will damn my soul, and a favor to a man who I called Rival. I want something for this, for both taking this blade and amending our feud.”
Lucian felt himself warm, his heart beating more than the battle as he felt hesitation at such a request. He did not fear death yet he feared what happened between men, “What is your demand?”
“That we both take on the Questing Vow.” Declared the Prince as he backed away from the weapon and stood tall, “That we search for the Grail so that we may save Bretonnia in these trying times.”
