“Old goddess?... Oh, right. Hyeny told me we used to worship beings like you in the past.”
The forest spirit nods and walks up to the two of you. You thought Daitza would get on her guard immediately, given how suspicious she's being of others lately, but surprisingly, she doesn’t even flinch. Your pal seems to trust her - she even crouches so they can talk at an even height.
“That is correct, child” Luna says, standing face to face with her. “You are looking at the first and original patron of all wolf gnolls. Or at least I was, until your ancestors betrayed the oath to Mother Earth and joined the demons’ side.”
Daitza nods slowly, studying the green wolf in front of her with great interest. You notice a strange glimmer of sadness in her eyes. “Luna, is it… is it normal to feel nostalgia when I stare at you?”
The spirit remains in meditative silence for a moment before responding. “Daitza... my purest daughter. The closest in heart to a true gnoll than any other in these corrupted generations has ever been. My dear warrior, craving to return to one’s roots is *absolutely* normal… and I am sure that Hyenus feels the same way.” She looks at you. “Come. Let me have a closer look at you.”
