I gave them a gun, and a knife, and imprinted upon them all their woes and fears and gave their enemy a face and a name. No longer was blame spread out among the wealthy invisible elites of the world, no longer was it “everyone's” fault the world was the way it was, no longer was it “just the way things are”, I gave them an enemy to fight and they killed them. They rejoiced in the streets as they maimed and tortured and raped and dominated. Who dares to call me an oppressor? I am a liberator. I have freed them, freed them from the chains of self hatred, of self-restraint, of being rational and civilized and kind and empathetic in a world where their enemies had no such restrictions. I game them their identity and their tribe. Now, we really are all in this together. Because we are all that remain. I gave the Mainlanders their <span class="mu-i">identity</span>. Now, the Hegemony is their identity.
