>Get her phone number!!! And also look at the bottom of your tea cup.
Clover stands up from her chair, but doesn’t move to leave. Instead, the girl peers into her empty tea cup, delaying goodbye for just a bit longer. A thin ring of tea residue sits at the bottom, but not much else. Considering the fact that it was just tea from a teabag, that did make sense. “Hey, Holm-Holm?”
“Yes, Clover?”
The wolf-girl fidgets. “Can I have your phone number?”
Melissa blinks, then laughs. “Yeah, of course. Here, I’ll write it down for you.” She tears a corner off of one of the papers on her desk and scribbles some numbers down onto it, before handing it over.
Clover puts a hand to her chin as she stares down at the slip of paper. “You know what, we should totally come up with some kind of keyword for if one of us is in danger! We could text each other the word ‘DEN’ if we really need help, that might be super useful!”
Melissa begins gently pushing the excitable girl toward the door. “Sure, sure, we can do that, but come on, we gotta get you home.”
Even while she gets pushed along, Clover tilts her head back to look at her. “Where do you live anyway, Holm-Holm, maybe we could have a packmate sleepover or something sometime? That could be really fun!”
“You don’t need to know right now.” The two of them are nearing the doorway, slowly but surely. “We can talk more tomorrow. And hey, make sure you don’t blab about your home address to just anyone, okay, that’s sensitive information.” Melissa reaches over to open the door.
Most of the shops have already closed down for the night, and the mall is nearly empty. Standing outside the entrance to the detective’s office, Clover lingers for a few more moments. “Are you sure you’re gonna be okay, Holmsie?”
The scarfed girl shoos her away. “Yes, I’m going to be fine.”
“You promise?”
“I promise. If anything, I’m more worried about you. Now go home! I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Okay…” Clover nods, then begins waving. “Good night Holm-Holm!”
She gives a small wave back. “Good night, Clover.”
Clover starts to run off, glancing back as she runs to shout out some key reminders. “Make sure to text me if you need help! And look up at the moon tonight, that’s a requirement for all packmates!!!”
Melissa cups her hands around her mouth to project her voice. “Hey watch where you’re going! And okay, I will!”
“Be safe! Byee!!!!”
“Bye!” The former detective watches the wolf-girl dash off with a smile, before turning back to her office to lock up.
