I do enjoy Apex Legends and I play Gibraltar quite a lot just for the shield and airstrike bombardment that takes about half the match to charge lol and yes I am terrible at the game because I cannot use my PUBG coward hiding tactics which are invalidated by the design. I like the game for the Titanfall weapons, the guns feel really good like the revolver and the SMGs which fire insanely fast, and also the charge rifle (it is like the quake 3 lightning rifle and railgun combined, it is satisfying).
Just none of the heroes really appeal to me, unlike Soul Calibur which has such memorable characters.
I think the Apex heroes have sort of generic names (a lot named after real-world geographic places but repurposed like Gibraltar?) they all have modern Bioware style design argh. I play the gas mask trap man sometimes too but he is not really very good in open spaces. The real heroes in this game are the guns, the sci-fi guns that are recycled from Titanfall 2; they are not that original but just all well designed with clear purpose and distinctive uses.
