Also I am very puzzled why anons are not even carrying any weapons for half the party hehe, and barely even possess any ranged weapons despite the chance to resupply at the village (was this a deliberate choice??)
But solving the hidden puzzle might make things easier... or at least considerably improve your chances.
And if you were puzzled by this random nightmarish folklore dropped upon you during the village rest at the tavern overnight, it might just be a hint...
