"As expected of my Master." Ruby boasted of you. "Most ink sacks get destroyed when a kraken is killed, but your talent has made this a thing of ease. It's a well sought after ingredient for certain potions, magical dyes, and even enchanted ink."
"What about the magic that could influence the environment?" You asked.
"It lied within it's central heart. You see, kraken have three hearts..." Ruby explained how monster powers worked in almost mind-numbing detail, more than happy enough to show off her knowledge.
"Wait a minute." Herta said. "I can use that magic for the weather tower I was thinking about! Or maybe even to calm down the waters!" She then tapped a finger against her chin. "But a mana crystal would be needed to power anything major..."
"Right, you mentioned that before." You recalled your cute goddess spoke about a weather tower— not too dissimilar to what the kraken was using to make the waters calmer— in passing a few times yesterday.
"Maybe I can still do something to make the dockyard Master wants have calmer seas..." Herta said to herself. "What should we do with the rest of the squid, Master?" Herta asked, leaning on you.
"Hmm." You gave monster a look over, thinking about what you could do with it. "Having a trophy sounds nice, but we could sell its parts. Ayane, you know of a few people that'd like to get their hands on squid parts, right?"
"There are more than a few merchants and well to do chefs and aristocrats that would be interested in the novelty of having a kraken's parts." Ayane confirmed. "And the Mage's Guild would be interested in obtaining certain ingredients from it; a deal might not be out of the question."
"Or we could dispose of this slimy thing." Ruby suggested.
"You don't want to make this a trophy for my victory?" You teased her.
"I will admit that having it as a treasure to boast over would be a sign of great prestige for you, my Master..." She seemed to convince herself of the idea, a pleased scheme in her eyes as she spoke.
"It'd be a waste to simply throw it away." Ayane continued, helping you scrutinize the squid. "Master is right to say that most of the parts can be sold for quite a bit of gold."
"We could eat it." Bertha said.
"I know a few recipes involving squid." Ayane mused.
"Same here, mate." Cattleya meowed.
"You could always experiment with it." Yumi proposed.
"But Master is more of a technology guy than a biology guy." Mel objected.
"Look, I know Master-sama isn't much into the biological side of science, but it might be worth a shot." Yumi said.
"It might ruin the monster, however." Gerty spoke up.
"Herta, what do you think?" You asked the goddess.
"Eh?" Herta blinked. "Ah, whatever you want is good by me."
After some more discussion you shared with your wives and Yumi on what to do with the squid, the choice fell on you once more.
