>>6348489It's then that you remember your prior commitments- And as a princess should never go back on her word you must force yourself to leave. So with, admittedly little, reluctance, you bid the good lord adieu and make your way to the towering home of Inquisitor Leontine. Heh, get it? Oh, nevermind you’re already here… Your nose scrunches as a foul odor assaults it, and it only takes a second for your trained senses to realize what that smell is; death. You burst through the door as a feeling of wrongness overcomes your body, you do not gasp when you see Leontine's corpse being held upright on her chair by the blade of a bastard sword.
You rush over to the body, “Dammit, what kind of illegitimate son of a-” curses fly out of your mouth as you examine the body. Perhaps, you shouldn't be surprised Leontine is an inquisition and no matter how paranoid it's still a dangerous occupation- “Fuck!” You do not scream when a rat jumps out from under her clothes. And you’re about to smite the beast before it leaps at your feet and scuttles around menacingly. With such a maneuever in play you're forced to make a tactical retreat from the rat. Your eyes dart from the shockingly red letters to Leontine's hands and see them dyed red from using her blood to write. Though you do notice, for being written by a woman near death, it is shockingly well composed. You shrug. Inquisitors are eccentric, so it doesn't faze you much.
“Dear Lorina,” It reads,
At the time of writing, I am currently mere moments away from the Goddess’s embrace, for the greatest of all enemies- A demon has killed me. It seems I was careless in setting my wards this morning, as he bypassed them and ran me through before I could even catch a glance at the Stranger. Please, before the night ends, find them and allow my souls to find peace.
P.S: Do NOT head to the Inquisition before this matter is resolved. I fear they may be compromised.
You set the note down and blink. “Fuck,” you didn't think this was how your night was going to go. Though you suppose there is no better way to learn how to find Strangers than to just do it. So after paying respects to the late Inquisitor by closing her dilated eyes, you head off to
