there is in fact something odd about the overgrowth. this isn't known species, but it is native of some kind, and its coloring skews far deeper into black and dark green in places. you find a greenhouse nearby full of overgrowth where some native plants were raised. this is another set of native wildlife or some seasonal variant of it not on record yet. wait, seasonal. a "sunless season" isn't being reported here. it wasn't reported becuase the orbit wasn't known to be wrong officially yet. the residents and HOAs are all being paid or gaslit into assuming this is some quirk of the planet, and it probably is unless some cause presents itself. that suddenly makes a few things click into place.
yeah, this is paperwork fraud at the very least, bigger charges if it's caused by something stupid instead, or else something more bizarre that isn't known yet either. how did they hide all this? that's a question for later you guess, and you can hand it off to other people

so, adding to that, there's burrows in the ground where something of various sizes was buried or hibernating.
yeah, this seems like a problem that needs to be kicked up the chain, but some plants ought to do as samples at the very least.
another job completed, and none of these plants look dangerous at all to harvest.
