It's not long before you are lead back to the same jail you were in when you were brought into town. You are even thrown into the same cell.
"Listen, outsider," the guard captain says with a venomous tone in his voice. "I don't know what mistake resulted in your release, but as soon as the details of this mess are sorted, I will personally see you hanged, tomorrow morning in the town square. The same mistake won't be made twice."
The guard captain begins walking away. "Wait," you say. "That woman I was in here with when I was first brought here..."
He turns and raises an eyebrow. "The girl from the village?"
"Yes. If you don't mind me asking... where is she?"
"You tell me," he says. "As soon as we find her, you can bet she'll be in here with you."
"Why? What did she do?"
"...She arrived here with you. Is that not enough?"
"You must bring her here! We will sort out who did what!"
The man simply leaves, closing the door to the dungeon behind him.
You sit down hard, frsutrated. You wish you had your holy symbol of Kossuth, but they took it from you too when they arrested you. Can't let you have anything!
Not knowing what's going on outside your cell makes the night drag on for what feels like a long time. Ireena doesn't arrive in the night, and eventually you lose hope that she will. Does that mean they didn't find her? Where is she, then?
You reflect on recent events. You came here to Vallaki on a lead from the Vistani to find your sister, and were supposed to be protecting Ireena... that didn't go according to plan. And what about the meeting you're supposed to have with that noblewoman tomorrow? Lady Wachter? The one who got you out of prison and told you to keep a low profile? Where is she now?
The morning eventually arrives. You received no updates in the night - still no Ireena, no Lady Wachter, and no guard captain arriving to lead you to your promised hanging in the town square. It's almost getting to be afternoon now. Does nobody care what you've done? You feel like they've just left you here! That normally wouldn't stirke you as odd, but something else peculiar has happened: the guard was called out last night, and still hasn't returned. Your cell has been unguarded for the whole day thus far. If you had rogue talents, and some tools, you might have been able to break free by now and no one would have noticed. It strikes you as odd that they would leave you unattended after what the guard captain told you.
You are hungry. They didn't feed you, which makes sense if they plan to execute you, but it feels cruel nonetheless. That, and not knowing what's happening outside, is really beginning to take its toll on you.
