>>6314328Saoirse was looking to show these two the power of Indech, but in actuality, you’d used up all your charges of that Crest for the day. Both of these enemies were heavily armored, which would also likely cause her difficulty when it came to damaging them. And as for Crowley, the man seemed intent on being completely useless here. That meant that your best hope for an ally was Butch. You point at the man, who accepts the honor of being your partner in this bout.
“Good choice, these guys look as though they mean business." Butch says, Blutgang gripped in his hands tightly. “The ladies should sit nice and tight while we handle the real work, eh?”
“Hmph.” Saoirse takes a seat in the stands, crossing her arms in an expression of clear annoyance. “Fine then. If you both die, rest assured that I’ll avenge you and use your badges to continue my climb.”
“Good luck, my friends!” Crowley cheers, taking a seat. “If I could give you any piece of advice, it would be to make sure you finish the job!”
You and Butch jump into the arena, landing side-by-side to face off against Adam and Nathaniel. The two Dagdans share a glance with each other.
“Tha iad làidir.” Nathaniel says. He twirls the labrys axe that had been hanging over his shoulder left and right as he examines you both. You had no clue what he was blabbering about, but you didn’t expect him to take you as lightly as he did Oleg.
“He says you are strong.” Adam translates. Much like his ally, he too wields an oversized weapon. A blade almost as large as he, yet despite its impressive size, he seems to have no difficulty in holding it upright. “But like all Fodlanders, you are too cocky. Stories of the Gallowglass must not pass through your country. For if they did, you would perhaps think twice about brandishing a weapon against us.”
>“They must not be very good stories if I’ve never heard of you.”“We are the best Dagda has to offer. The undying legion.” Adam says. “You may stab us, crush us, slice us apart. It matters not. We will always rise up and defeat our foe. It is unfortunate for you that you were misled by that renegade, but all who stand between us and our relic will be destroyed.”
Nathaniel steps forward and stands before you. It seems as though the less talkative Dagdan has chosen you as his opponent. This was a hard man, no doubt. His heavy armor was not just for absorbing physical blows, but was also inlaid with runes that gave him increased resistance against your magic. You were sure this would be a good fight, but something about Adam’s words, coupled with what you saw earlier, were giving you pause. You were sure you’d seen Nathaniel spurt blood when Oleg had stabbed him earlier, but how did his wound close so fast? In fact, you could see no sign of damage done by Oleg. And then there was Crowley’s piece of “advice.” Was there something more to these guys than met the eye?
