Glass’ yelp started out as being comically slow, only for it to suddenly speed up the moment he entered the range of the time dilation chamber. Joyce seemed to take great satisfaction in this, because she was using her webs to reel him in right alongside you.
“What are you guys-!?”
It wasn’t hard to figure out what had shut him up so definitively. His brain must’ve stopped working the moment he laid eyes on Iara. He staggered back, despite neither you nor Joyce exerting any force on him with your weblines, both of which were conspicuously placed over where his nipples should be under his shirt.
“Wha…what’d they do her!? I thought you said that they were going to fix her!”
He was understandably upset, and you had no choice but to take the brunt of his anger as gracefully as you could. You were surprised too.
You grabbed him by the shoulders and held him firmly in place.
“Trust us, we’re doing everything we can to help her. But in order for that to happen, I’m going to need your help, some video games and a stack of pizzas.”
Glass blinked several times before the meaning of your words finally dawned on him. And even then, he looked terribly confused.

You weren’t too well-versed on the inner workings of…whatever the hell Ada does, but you remembered that Gloria vaguely referred to it as “magitech”. She was somehow able to use her spells to interface with technology around her, which is how she managed to conjure up a flat screen that was as big as a movie screen, along with the newest next-gen game console and four controllers!
You weren’t sure if she took them out of a storage space, or if she literally used her magic to create them out of thin air. The difficulty came from Koa having to procure the games, movies and pizza that you requested. Luckily for him, you decided to order from a local establishment.
By the time he’d arrived to deliver everything, you had to block his view of Ada’s pocket dimension to stop him from asking too many questions. But what really saved you was his wariness towards you whenever pizza was involved. You could detect the faintest amount of apprehension from him, just in case you decided to request something entirely unreasonable. And considering your track record, you supposed that wasn’t entirely unreasonable.
Joyce bounced up and down excitedly on the couch when she saw you walk back in carrying a fat stack of pizzas.
“Is that Shotgun Dan’s?”
“Not this time, Joy. Koa deserves a break every now and again.”
You replied.
She visibly slumped in disappointment, which made Glass chuckle.
“Pizza is pizza, Joy. I’m sure it’s fine.”
You placed the pizzas on a nearby table and began handing out plates and napkins.
“Damn! I forgot the drinks. Oh, well. I can always chase him down in an hour or two. He probably hasn’t even reached the elevator yet.”
