There were few buildings that were taller than Particep Semper who walked the streets of the city. Many of these were but Civilian buildings without any outfit of offensive potential or defensive posturing. These people, so ingrained in their sense of security, that they did not make what truly made cities impossible to attack.
TalOS knew, with a single thought, that he could destroy this entire city.
He did not choose that fate for these people. It was not out of a sense of obligation or humility that he had thought of this. He instead did it out of a practical matter for these people will be made into an entire forge’s worth of servitors. The other was that if the leader of these people actually came to TalOS with a petition to surrender to the Federation.
If he did that then the fate of this world would be subservience. Being that it held blue skies and green ground it was a great candidate to become an agri-world. The natives who survived and did not resist their domination will find themselves displaced across the Federation’s many Hive Worlds. By doing so TalOS would reap both their productivity as well as remove any chance that they will unite against the Federation.
These plans were already set even before TalOS walked upon the planet, because with the exception of population disbursement this was exactly the manner Xenos were dealt with. Some will call TalOS cruel for enacting such measures but they were with the complete willingness of the Federation. TalOS did not need to win over the populace of this planet, he needed the planet itself with the people being but pest upon a soon to be agri-world.
Steps began to slow as TalOS looked upon the meager state house of the lord. It was not nearly as tall as any of the civilian spires which dotted the area and was small enough to be crushed with a single step of Particep Semper. Counter measures were already taken as Pterraxi’s Skystalkers were now flying off the shoulders of Particep Semper to scour the ground for any who might retreat. If there were escape routes through tunnels then the Termites who were boring through the ground had already found them.
TalOS simply needed to make a decision on what to do with these leaders who have failed to contact TalOS in any manner. Had they killed themselves out of shame, stubbornly resistant, or were simply unable to contact TalOS? If TalOS was to destroy these people then none of these realities would be known. However there would always be the thought upon his mind.
