After escorting your sister and nephew home, you quickly changed out of your business casual suit, and into your “secret” business suit. You were relieved to finally be able to circumvent the horrendous traffic that had been caused by Slip’s daily backyard brawls. Everyone and their mom was now trying to get their hands on him, and all it did was knock out more power grids around the city.
Luckily, the place that you were headed to today didn’t have much traffic at all.

Having made a few calls ahead of time, Flint, Prowler and Felicia were already at your base by the time that you got back. You were all headed into the sewers to meet up with Callisto and her fellow Morlocks. Except this time, you’d all be wearing boots to avoid any further complaining or unnecessary dry cleaning bills. That wasn’t to say that there would be no complaining at all, though. You could already see the sour expressions forming on Cat and Prowler’s faces. Which is exactly why you chose to tell them after they’d already arrived!
Since Cindy was also part of the team, she volunteered to come along. She looked like she needed a break from her ASL studies, anyway. You’d have to play catch-up whenever you got some free time. At this point, Flint was going to fully understand the language before you did. The man literally never needed to sleep!

The trek through the sewer system was much quicker the second time around, as you were able to chart a path from the phone booth to the Morlocks’ central hub. Glass was already waiting for you at the entrance by the time that you’d arrived. He figured that it was easier to stay here, rather than make two trips.
“Just smile and wave.” he whispered, before pulling the curtain back to allow you entry.
You had already instructed them on the Morlocks’ grotesque appearances, hoping that your prior warning would be enough to prepare them for seeing the mutants in the flesh. Prowler’s mask hid any sort of expression that didn’t quite reach his eyes, but Felicia seemed much more adept at maintaining a professional aura. Her outward reaction had been far more tame than Flint’s had been, at least.
To their surprise, the malformed mutants were eyeing them with an intense curiosity that far surpassed theirs. There was, of course, some measure of contempt mixed in there. Not all Morlocks were huge fans of humans invading their territory. And some just weren’t huge fans of humans. Especially those with such well-trained bodies. Any one of you could probably walk onto the front page of one of those superhero fashion magazines and not look terribly out of place. Except Cindy and Flint. Neither had costumes yet.
Out of the corner of your eye, you spotted Callisto watching you from the second level. She was carefully examining your companions from a distance.
